Who am I

I’m a highly motivated IT professional transitioning into the technology industry after building a strong hands-on background as a technician. I have extensive experience working with enterprise-level physical security systems and low voltage infrastructure, and over time, I’ve expanded my expertise into IT through self-directed learning and home labs. My projects focus on virtual machine management, network configuration, and cloud technologies. I have a genuine passion for technology and continuous improvement, and I’m always eager to learn and take on new challenges. Adaptable and quick to learn, I thrive in fast-paced environments and look forward to contributing my technical skills and problem-solving abilities to a team where I can make an impact.

Work Experience

Throughout my career, I’ve built a diverse technical background rooted in hands-on work and direct service. I began in the medical field, spending 12 years at the University of Miami in various roles, from CNA to administrative support, where I developed a strong foundation in protocols, attention to detail, and working in high-pressure environments. After more than a decade in healthcare, I transitioned into technical roles that aligned with my interest in technology. I worked as a locksmith, gaining experience in precision work and physical security, before moving into the low-voltage and security systems field with DML Security. Over six years, I planned and installed access control systems, surveillance solutions, and network infrastructure. This included programming IP addresses, managing wire runs, maintaining HOA properties, and training new technicians. As my interest grew, I began building IT skills through formal education and hands-on projects, focusing on areas like networking, virtualization, and system administration. After completing the Google Cybersecurity Certificate and a technical course at the University of Miami, I started applying this knowledge in home labs, working with VMware, Active Directory, and pfSense to replicate real-world IT environments. With a strong blend of technical expertise, adaptability, and problem-solving skills, I’m ready to take the next step into an IT role where I can support systems, troubleshoot issues, and continue learning.

My primary goal is to continue developing as an IT professional. I’m committed to building expertise in areas like network administration, system support, and cloud infrastructure. I want to work in an environment where I can learn from experienced professionals, apply technical skills to real-world challenges, and contribute to organizational success. Long-term, I aim to help businesses, especially small and medium-sized organizations, adopt technology solutions that improve security, efficiency, and scalability. My expectation is to join a team that values collaboration, mentorship, and innovation, where I can grow into a reliable IT professional while making meaningful contributions.

I’ve always been fascinated by how technology drives progress and shapes our daily lives. What excites me most is the constant evolution of the field, there’s always something new to learn or improve. I enjoy working with systems and networks because they are the backbone of modern business operations, and supporting them means ensuring productivity and efficiency. I’m passionate about solving technical problems, learning emerging technologies, and building environments that work seamlessly for users.
